'Always good for you, now better for the planet'
This is the idea behind our environmental commitment. In practice, it means:
- using organic ingredients;
- manufacturing under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality standards;
- using 100% plant-based capsules;
- packaging in glass and using paper from sustainably managed forests.
Fungi and the environment
Fungi are fascinating organisms that have adapted and survived through the history of life on Earth. Through their networks they connect soil, nutrients and plants – a fundamental trio for life. Some fungi can break down pollutants, while mycorrhizal fungi live in association with the roots of trees such as chestnuts, oaks and conifers, helping them cope with difficult conditions. Our sister company Hifas Foresta applies this knowledge to forest restoration, planting mycorrhizal chestnut trees every year.
Helping bees
Bees pollinate a large share of the crops we eat, and their populations in Europe have declined because of pesticides, habitat loss, parasites and disease – including colony collapse disorder. Through the Hifas-Apis R&D project, our sister company Hifas Vet is researching fungal-based nutrition to support the health of honeybee colonies.
Traceability
Through the Hifas Quality System, we track every product from cultivation to the finished pack, with analytical checks at three stages of production.
