What is prostate cancer?

Prostate cancer is a cancer that occurs in the prostate, a small walnut-shaped gland found only in men, that generates the seminal fluid which feeds and transports sperm.

Prostate cancer is one of the most frequent types of cancer in men. In general, prostate cancer grows slowly and, in principle, remains limited to the prostate gland, where it may not cause serious damage. However, while some types of prostate cancer grow slowly and may need minimal treatment or even not need treatment, other types are aggressive and can spread quickly.

Prostate cancer that is detected early, when it is still limited to the prostate gland, is more likely to have successful treatment.

What mushrooms have useful properties in prostate cancer?

Four Key mushrooms:  Reishi, Champiñón del sol, Maitake, Coriolus y Pleurotus

Some of the components of these rare  mushrooms mainly betaglucans have shown a powerful action in  stimulating the human immune system.

The stimulation induced in the body itself seems to be the key to the effects observed in numerous clinical trials. Ingesting mushroom preparations together with conventional oncological medication, has shown to contribute in reducing treatment time of chemo / radiotherapy, its side effects. It has also been effective in increasing the quality of life in patients.
